Swami Vivekananda - his Youth

Naren wanted to see God and know about him. He asked many people about God, but he didn't get a satisfactory reply. Someone told him about Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Naren went to him and asked him the question,"Have you seen God?"

Sri Ramkrishna smiled at him and said, "Yes, I have seen God just as I see you now " Naren felt very happy that finally he found a man who could help him. So he asked him, "Can you show me God?" Sri Ramakrishna liked his innocence and Said,"Yes, I can show you God." Naren was very happy and prepared himself to see God. Sri Ramakrishna then touched Naren' s chest with his leg and suddenly a bright light flashed in front of Naren. That's how he experienced God. Sri Ramakrishna said, "why have you come so late, Naren? I was waiting for you." After that Naren started visiting Sri Ramakrishna more often. He felt happy in the presence of Sri Ramakrishna. He started to spend more time at Sri Ramakrishna's place than his own place.

After a few days Naren' s father passed away. The responsibility of the family fell on Naren. He had to search for a job immediately. One day, Sri Ramakrishna told Naren to go to kali temple and pray to Mother Kali. Naren followed Sri Ramakrishna' s advice and went to kali temple. He saw the beautiful idol of goddess Kali and forgot what he wanted to ask. He asked her spiritual wisdom. Goddess Kali gave him spiritual wisdom.
