The Rags to Riches Tale of  Sarathbabu

Sarathbabu Elumalai is a Young Indian Entrepreneur, social worker and a budding politician.

Sarathbabu was born and brought up in a  slum in Chennai. His Mother sold idlis on the pavement as she was the breadwinner of family. Sarathbabu saw his mother struggling very hard and was determined that it should not go in vain. He studied hard and topped all exams. A classmate told him about BITS, Pilani. He got admission in pilani but h Sarathbabu e was not sure he would be able to complete his IIT there.

 His mother applied for government  scholarship and paid his tuition fees.   

His sister sold all her jewelry to pay for the hostel and food. With great difficulty, Sarathbabu completed the course. He was topper in BITS, Pilani too. After the course, he attended a campus interview and got a job with polaris. He paid off all the debt that the family had incurred. Then he decided to pursue his dream. He took the CAT and got admission bat IIM, Ahmedabad. Offers came is way, but he decided to start something on his own. His mother was his inspiration. He took a loan and started the food business. 

The bid to encourage youngsters, sarath babu has also entered politics, he contested look shabha election from south chennai constituency, but lost.

Sarath babu elumalai was among the three youth invited from accross the global for the world bank's annual flagship event, the global youth conference, to engage the broader devlopment of community with youth around the world . His other awards and recognition are,
