The Lion that Discovered Itself.
Once there was a big forest and there were many animals in it. A flock of sheep was also living there. One day a lioness, which was pregnant, jumped on the flock. It fell on a rock and died giving birth to a lion cub. The sheep took care of the cub. It drank sheep's milk and ate grass. The sheep-lion grew up along with the sheep. It bleated like a sheep.
One day a big lion attacked the flock of sheep. The terrified sheep ran in all directions bleating. The sheep-lion also was running along with the other sheep. The big lion was surprised to see the lion cub running in fear bleating like a sheep. It caught hold of him and asked, "why are you running away in fear, you fool? You are not a sheep. You are a lion just like me. Why are you bleating and eating grass?"
The sheep-lion did not believe the lion's words. He thought he was a sheep. He continued to bleat. The big lion then took the sheep-lion to the bank of a river. The lion said, "Look at the reflection in the water. Don't we look alike?" The sheep-lion looked at their reflection in the water. He was surprised to see that they looked alike.
The lion now gave a loud roar and said, "You also roar like me. "The sheep-lion at first only bleated. But when it tried again it could roar like a lion. It felt very exciting to roar.
The lion then thrust a piece of deer meat into the sheep-lion's mouth. The young lion ate only grass till now. But now he enjoyed the taste of the flesh. Finally, The sheep-lion realised it's real identity and walked away with the big lion.
